• A Visit to the Eric Carle Museum

  This week Eva and I took a trip out to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art with my aunt and my grandmother. It is a fantastic museum with a great library, a movie theater that shows little films about artists, an amazing gallery of art from Eric Carle and many other picture book artists, a cafe and an art studio. We had a ton of fun checking out all of the museum and hanging out with the family.

  I managed to forget my camera at home, I guess that I am too accustomed to Drew having his available. Fortunately, my aunt brought hers and she snapped some great shots.

  The Bourque trait rears itself. Most of my mom’s family sticks their tongue out when they concentrate. Now Eva does too!

• Back from Florida

  Eva and I are back safely from Florida. She’s kept me busy the last week, but I’m all caught up now and have photos edited to share. Eva loved seeing her Mimi and Grandpa Dan-o. It was so nice to stay with them.

  Here are some highlights from our trip.

  On Tuesday, Mimi took us to the Palm Beach Zoo.
  

  Eva rode on a carousel for the first time.	Eva liked watching the alligators swim around.
  Mommy enjoyed watching the flamingos argue.	Mimi enjoyed having lunch with Eva.
  There were some free roaming animals, like this giant iguana.	Mommy did not like the free roaming peacocks. Ask me about my peacock attack some time… I’m not a fan.

  On Wednesday, Eva and I hung out alone at the house after running some errands in the morning. The errands made Eva sleepy.
  

  On Thursday, Grandpa Dan-o took us to IKEA to look for bibs for Eva (so far these are the best we’ve found). We had lunch at the IKEA Cafe. When we got home we went swimming.

  On Friday, Mimi was off and we went swimming!
  

  On Friday night Auntie Mo arrived. On Saturday we went swimming with Auntie Mo.

  On Sunday we went to the pool with Mimi and Grandpa Dan-o. At the pool she discovered that she could take off Grandpa’s glasses and throw them in the water. It’s a very fun game. After the pool we went shopping and had a nice dinner out.

• Baby Bennett is here!

  Most of you have read about this on Drew’s Blog already, but Eva Grace has arrived!! She’s a week old today, having arrived October 10th at 12:04 pm with speed that shocked everyone. She was 8 pounds 5.8 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.
